Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

The Rotary Club of Nantucket was formed on October 14, 1950. Our members are business, professional and community members who meet regularly to plan and implement community service activities and network with our community.  Our members are dedicated to making important contributions to our island and to communities around the world.  Members may join Rotary for many reasons including community involvement, personal development, professional networking, and camaraderie with other members. But perhaps the most important benefit is the satisfaction gained from making a real positive difference fpr our island and in the world.

Rotary builds local understanding  through our various programs including support of our youth via support for the Rotary's  Interact Club at the Nantucket High School, scholarships to deserving graduating students who demonstrate a life style of community service, support to local island non-profits who serve those in need, assistance with fuel assistance to those island seniors or other residents who face a loss of heat or electricity during the winter, donations to our local food pantry.

Throughout the world Rotary clubs participate in a broad range of educational, intercultural, and humanitarian activities designed to improve the lives of others.

We invite anyone interested in Service Above Self to join us.
